The Reef Wars

The Reef Wars

Event Lore

The Kell of Wolves, Virixas, had heard the call and had gathered a great fleet to join the other Fallen houses on Earth. It was a matter of survival. The salvation of the Kell’s people depended on their ability to shatter the walls of the City and secure a victory at Twilight Gap^1.

Virixas, the Wolf Kell, amassed his army on Ceres, a large and perfectly round asteroid settled within the Asteroid Belt. Ceres was large enough to support the shipyards and warrens but had a greater meaning and spiritual connection to the Fallen. It’s perfect spherical shape was considered powerful and lucky like their Servitor gods^1.

The emptiness of space was filled with the chatter of Fallen, transmissions broadcasted on all Fallen frequencies. This had never previously occurred and was too rare to be a coincidence. Despite not being able to decrypt the transmissions, The Queen’s brother, Master of Crows, Prince Uldren, recognized the signal, the Fallen Houses were merging, they were preparing an assault to end the Earth city^2.

Rise of Iron

Rise of Iron

Event Lore

“The Iron Lords once pledged our lives to protect humanity. We sought a great treasure from our long-forgotten past. We thought it would save us. Instead, it turned against us. One by one we fell, until at last we sealed it away. But what we buried long ago has been unearthed by an army of scavengers. The Ironsbane has returned. I will finish this. I will honor the memory of the Iron Lords. But, I cannot do it alone. For the City’s enemies to fall. You must rise.”

Welcome back guardians today we are going to discuss the lore surrounding the Rise of Iron, beginning with the history of the Iron Lords and ending in the present day as we approach the newest threat to the City. I will cover the victories at Six Fronts and Twilight Gap, the Iron Lord patrols led from Felwinter Peak, the creation of the Iron Banner, the last remaining Iron Lord, Lord Saladin, the Iron Wolves, the new threat, SIVA and finish with some speculation about Jagi’s Host, which may have some greater significance to the Rise of Iron storyline. I will use information from the grimoire cards, item descriptions and more recently the Rise of Iron reveal stream.

New Destiny artwork will be returning next week, however you are still able vote for your favorite artwork on my last video, the link is in the description and you can also show support and download the images on my Patreon page. Lastly a shout-out to DBM gamer who is working on a similar lore video to this one, his channel link is in the description below.

This is myelin games and I hope you enjoy this latest Destiny Lore video.

Let’s begin with the Battle of Six Fronts. The Battle of Six Fronts occurred in the earliest days of the City and was the first major and coordinated attack on the City. The attack was led by the Fallen. The City decisively repelled the attack with the assistance of four Titan orders. We are relatively certain about the name of three of the Titan orders, which include Pilgrim Guard, Firebreak and Chain. The following Titan marks confirms the involvement of these Titan orders;

The Collapse: What Actually Happened?

Event Lore

The collapse?

I’m out in plain sight. Sky is torn open and there’s nothing and nobody left in this ruined world but me and the boiling shadow all around. Whatever it is hits me before I can level my gun. Doesn’t matter. Tendrils of pain crawl over my splayed fingers, my outstretched arms, my shoulders, my neck, my screaming mouth as it consumes. I’m being enveloped. Everything is wrong. Primordial. My systems go sideways. All but my sensors. It wants me to witness this, the world. It’s world now, suffocating in the Black poison. I collapse. We all collapse.

Welcome back Guardians, today I want to talk about the Collapse, and what happened during the Collapse. I have already made detailed videos about Rasputin’s involvement but I wanted to be more specific. It is something that has always bothered me and confused me, so I wanted to have a detailed look at any card that mentioned the Collapse.

Rise of Iron Lore

Event Lore

Game Informer article reveals new Destiny Lore

Every time she pulled the trigger, an enemy of the City died. Her keen eye, never missed her mark. Eight Iron Lords fell when sealing SIVA away and whilst most are familiar with Saladin’s survival, another Iron Lord may yet live.

Welcome back guardians, today I wanted to summarise any new lore that was released in the Game Informer article, podcasts and videos. I sifted through the current material available, with the assistance of AnonPig, (link to his twitter below) and extracted information that was more lore based. I do not believe this will have any major spoilers, however it will likely take the surprise out of some of the events or missions in Rise of Iron. So if you want everything to be a surprise in Rise of Iron then suggest leaving now.

As you may have guessed via the intro I will be covering the Iron Lord Efrideet. Other information that I will cover includes, information about the other Iron Lords, Thorn, Tyra Karn, Shiro-4, new fragments, the Raid, mentions of a rampaging werewolf, increased information on SIVA, the recycle factor of the Vex and the Iron Wolves. There is a lot of information here, so if you have heard it before feel free to skip to any section with the links on screen or the time stamps in the description.

The Traveler is Trapped!

Event Lore

Did the Cabal trap the Traveler?

Welcome back guardians, today we are having a closer look at images from the Destiny 2 trailer that show the traveler looking very different from vanilla Destiny. Specifically, I am referring to these intersecting lines, which are even more obvious in the close up of Zavala. When I lived streamed the lore discussion of the new trailer, someone actually said in chat that the Cabal have put a shield around the Traveler, unfortunately, I instantly dismissed this theory, until I recently looked closer at these images… and now I totally agree. I apologise to that person who suggested that idea, I think you were spot on.

I do think that the Cabal have “trapped” the Traveler, and this is how Ghual, The Red Legion leader has stripped Guardians of their power. If you have not read the Product description for Destiny 2  it reads,

“Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force, led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee.”

So this shield, enclosure, capsule surrounding the Traveler may be a Cabal technology used to strip us of our powers. Today we are going to talk about the potential consequence of being separated from the Traveler and the potential story opportunities for new Guardian abilities in Destiny 2, such as will we have to free the Traveler first to regain our abilities, or can we discover new abilities elsewhere?

This is myelin games, and I hope you enjoy this latest destiny lore episode.

Destiny 2 and The Cabal

Destiny 2

The Cabal

The Dead Orbit fleet is well clear of Saturn. They’ve picked up a high-gain signal from the Cabal beachhead on the Dreadnaught. The message is outward bound… its target is far outside the solar system. We have to know what they’re saying, and who they’re saying it to.

Signal’s down. It was encrypted, but some of the headers are legible. This was a detailed distress signal intended for… the head of the Cabal Empire.

Welcome back Guardians. With many rumours circulating about Destiny and the potential Cabal storyline, I thought it about time to discuss the lore surrounding the Cabal.  I will discuss the Backstory of the Cabal, the Cabal Empire and potential storyline pathways involving Psions, the Warmind Charlemagne and Cabal accessing Vex technology.

The artwork at the beginning of this video was supplied by Brandon McCamey (aka Gammatrap), see his website for his latest paintings, artwork videos and t-shirt designs. Link is in the description. For those wanting more lore about the Cabal, be sure to check out the Reddit post by Drexodthegunslinger, which collated a huge amount of lore about the Cabal, link in the description.  My twitter, twitch and podcasts details are also below

Nexus Strike? Canon or Not?

Event lore

Nexus strike

Deep in the Vault of Glass, the fabric of reality bends to the will of the Vex. Warlocks speak in tones of awe of the Gorgons – creatures that seem to possess a dreaded, almost unimaginable strength: an ontological weapon.

The Gorgons’ ability must be tied to the nature of the Vault of Glass. We can take some solace in the clear fact that the Vex cannot manifest this power in the world outside.

Welcome back Guardians, today we are discussing something slightly different yet still with a Lore aspect and that is the re-mastered strike mission, the Nexus, that will be released with the Dawning on the 13th of December.

With the release of the Dawning, The Nexus Mind, Will of Crota (a.k.a Omingul) and The Shadow Thief (a.k.a Taniks) have had additional mechanics and/or enemies included, specifically the Taken and SIVA. Today, I wanted to take a look a closer look at whether the Nexus strike had any justification from a Lore point of view and whilst the new grimoire cards are not yet available, the in-game dialogue during the new missions provide some insight.

Hopefully, this video will provide some clarification to whether the new strike mission fits well with the foundational lore of Destiny or if the re-skinned material a little bit off. Obviously, if you do not want to know anything about these new strikes mission, I suggest leaving now, as this video will contain spoilers. Why Osiris created the Trials?

Event Lore

Trials of Osiris

Have you ever questioned why you compete? Why you enter the Trials? Why access to the Mercury Lighthouse is only granted to the undefeated? Maybe your victories have nothing to do with teamwork, consistency or luck but everything to do with fate…

Welcome back guardians, today we are discussing the lore behind the event, Trials of Osiris, why does this event exist, what is it’s purpose. I apologise for the use of footage, of course this would be a perfect opportunity to feature some Trials of Osiris gameplay, however as fate has it, I have only visited the lighthouse on one occasion! If you have not seen my Osiris the Time-traveller video, I highly recommend watching that video, as understanding how Osiris may have mastered time travel does play a role in this video. The link will be in the description.

As usual, the artwork featured in this video was supplied by Brandon McCamey, please show your support by visiting his webpage and or youtube channel, links are in the description. If you are watching in the first two hours of release, that is between 6-8pm EST US, I will be live over on Twitch, feel free to come say hi.
