Destiny 2 lore: The Fulminator, Shadow of Calus

Character lore: The Fulminator

Calus gestured towards the crackling Arc storm before him. The energy mass shivered, tethered to a golden spindle in the center of the chamber.

“You are marvelous,” he said to the Arkborn. His eyes drank in the flickering light, reflecting nothing. “You will cast a glorious Shadow.”

A panel on the wall lit: THIS SHIP IS TINY.

Welcome back Guardians, today we are continuing with the Shadows of Calus series. If you are new to this series, you can watch them in any order, a link will be below to the other episode about Rull. Essentially, the Shadows of Calus are different species that Calus recruited into his Empire to enact his revenge on Dominus Ghaul. They act as assassins, killing anyone who helped Dominus Ghaul’s military coup. Each raid set from the Leviathan normal mode tells the story of a different Shadow of Calus, and today we are covering the Arkborn, and specifically a character called the Fulminator, which featured in the Warlock raid gear.

As usual I will be livestreaming over on Twitch when this video is released, a link will be below. Also, the artwork in today’s video was provided by Gammatrap. Thank you to everyone who donated on Patreon, all donations go towards paying Gammatrap for his time. Patreons also receive lots of digital artwork as part of their rewards.

Destiny 2 lore: Drang and Sturm

Character lore: Sigrun and Victor

“And so the pair are reunited. Sturm and Drang. For the first time in centuries. Thank you, Guardian for allowing me to see history firsthand. Go with these relics of war. And may your place in their story be a worthy one.” – Tyra Karn

Welcome back Guardians. Today I wanted to dive into some exotic weapon lore, specifically the pair of pistols Sturm and Drang. There is a very good reason to why these pistols work in symbiosis refilling each other’s magazines, and that is because they represent two lovers.

Stick around to hear more about this tragic love story and feel free to join me on Twitch, as I will be live streaming when this video is released. Thanks once again to Gamma Trap for the artwork and everyone who has donated on Patreon, which pays directly for the work. Also, I would like to acknowledge a reddit post by MrScootaroo which outlined this lore.

Destiny 2 lore: Are we in a Vex simulation?

Character lore: Osiris

Welcome back guardians, the new Curse of Osiris live stream had many interesting story components but the one thing that really peaked my interest was the mention of Vex simulations. Narrative lead for Curse of Osiris, Christine Thompson said this,

“Not technically the Vault of Glass, Osiris is in a place called the infinite forest. It is a reality engine that the vex use to simulate all of the aspects of reality that they can touch because they are looking for something specific, they are looking to brute force reality and find the thing they want… and Osiris is looking for it too.”

This gets me excited because it feels very true to the lore of the Vex from Destiny 1. So today, we are going to talk about the Vex simulations, the researchers to first discover the Vex simulations from Destiny 1, and whether we are in a Vex simulation. Of course, I will address the obvious in-game dialogue where it says that the Vex cannot simulate the Light.

Destiny 2 lore: SIVA

I stood at the edge of Lords’ Watch and watched the enemy ~consume enhance replicate~.

SIVA curled and thrashed, creating tendrils that lashed out at us. It formed shapes that could grapple us, and angry swarms that buzzed around us before breaking apart to worm their way into every chink of our armor.

Warlords I know how to fight. This is ~consume enhance replicate~

~SIVA.MEM.??0315

I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die. I don’t want… ~consume enhance replicate~

Ghost? Ghost, where are you?

~SIVA.MEM.??0316

Welcome back Guardians, today we will be discussing the unseen enemy from the Destiny universe; SIVA (SIVA symbol). Veteran players will remember the Rise of Iron expansion, and the nanotechnology that spread like a plague across the Cosmodrome, but new players might only have heard about if they were lucky in the Exodus Down strike. This video will follow SIVA from its creation in a Clovis Bray laboratory and all the way through to its impact on the Fallen. I am predicting that the Warmind DLC will see the return of SIVA

The artwork in this video was provided by Gammatrap and was made possible with your patreon donations. All donations on patreon go towards paying for the artwork, I don’t take anything. Donation rewards include digital versions of the artwork amongst other rewards.

Destiny 2 lore: Can the vex be defeated

Character lore: Osiris

The Vex have no hope. No imagination, no drive, no fear. All they have is the pattern. Everything must fit. If it can be made to fit, good. If it can’t, it gets cut away.

They think this is the end of them, a path with no escape. And yet, here they are, there they were, and there they will be, and there they will have been.

For them, there is no paradox. There is only the pattern. And the pattern needs the Vex to see it to completion. And so the Vex must be. For the mind of Vex, is that faith?

Welcome back Guardians, what you just heard was Praedyth speaking in the Vault of Glass from the mission the Paradox from Destiny 1. (Vault of Glass). This mission is pivotal to understanding whether the Vex can ever be defeated; how do you defeat a time-traveling race that can predict its own end and un-do it. (VEX TELEPORTING, new trailer). Well, with the release of the Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris trailer (trailer footage), and after taking detail notes on every mission, adventure, scannable and world quests for IO and Nessus, I believe we can determine how to beat the Vex once and for all.

The artwork featured in today’s video was provided by Gammatrap and would not be possible without your support on Patreon. Patreons can get access to digital versions of the artwork and other pieces like phone wallpapers.

If you would like to chat lore in real time, tune into my twitch channel, I am usually live for 5 hours after releasing a lore video, the link is below. We are often helping people in the leviathan raid and talking lore. [RAID footage]

Destiny 2 lore: Expansion II character identity

Character lore: Elsie Bray, Ana Bray or Efrideet?

Welcome back guardians. Firstly, thank you to everyone who has sent me theories either via twitter, discord or any other means. My twitter pretty much exploded with theories about the identity of the female who featured on the Destiny 2 second DLC. The most common suggestion was Ana Bray, primarily due to the symbol seen on the armour. I wanted to give my thoughts on this possibility, both evidence for and evidence against, and there is some big pieces of evidence against this theory. I will also provide some other suggestions for the identity of this character.

If you enjoyed the Anan-51 video comic book, you can find digital prints of the comic book on my patreon, Acolyte Tier and above can access them. All donations go towards future comic book projects and creating artwork to complete lore videos.

Destiny 2 lore: Why Oryx will never return

Welcome back Guardians. With the leak of the Destiny 2 audio files, one specific audio file has captured the attention of many, specifically the one that says, “Okay here me out. What if Oryx isn’t dead?”, combine this with the Hive experiments being conducted on Titan and people have started to question whether it is possible for Oryx to return.

If you are familiar with the Books of Sorrow you likely already know the answer to this question, however I wanted to give a detailed explanation why Oryx will not return in Destiny 2.

If you are enjoyed the anan-51 destiny comic book that I released just prior to Destiny 2, you can get access to digital versions of the images on Patreon. All patreons of any donation level will get access for the month of November. Once again, thanks for all the support. All donations go towards paying the artist gammatrap for his work.

Destiny 2 lore: Will Nokris return

Character lore: Nokris

I think this used to be a terminal used by Eris Morn. Lots of notes in here about the Hive, their Prince Crota. The Taken King, Oryx. Huh. I wonder where she went off to?

The markings suggest this is a Hive god, but I don’t recognize the symbol. Nothing in the World’s Grave file either. The name is… Nokris.

Welcome back Guardians. With the release of Destiny 2, one item has been added to the data base that speaks about Nokris, one of the greatest mysteries from Destiny 1. The Gensym Knight gear set from IO contains a letter from Asher Mir to Eris Morn and mentions Nokris. Whilst it is only a short paragraph it can be dissected and combined with our knowledge from Destiny 1 to gain more knowledge about Nokris.

As usual, I will be live over on Twitch when this video is released. The link is in the description below. This is myelin games and I hope you enjoy this latest Destiny 2 Lore episode.

Destiny 2 lore: Callus’s assassin

Character lore: Rull

The greatest warriors of the Clipse lay dead. They formed a bloody trail through the Leviathan. Only Rull had lived to see the throne room.

Calus calmly sipped his wine and considered Rull from the height of his golden seat.

“Are you hungry?”

Rull stared dumbfounded, bleeding and exhausted. He didn’t know what to make of a creature that would casually offer sustenance and slaughter in equal measure.

“I offer you a warrior’s paradise, Rull of the Clipse. Join me, and be counted among the lucky few that might see the end of this world.”

What could Rull do but accept?

Welcome back Gaurdians, today we are starting the series about the Shadows of Calus. The Shadows of Calus are different species that Calus recruited into his Empire in order to enact his revenge on the Cabal who betrayed him, which includes Dominus Ghual. The normal Leviathan raid armour for the Titan tells the story of Rull, Gun of Kaga Clipse.

The artwork for this video was made possible with your support on Patreon, and I know brandon spent over a week on the opening image, so I hope you enjoy it. It is available for download on patreon.
